Church briefs: Kaleidoscope of Faith happening in June

Kaleidoscope of Faith is set for June 25, 2022.

Pastors Eddie and Pat Trice of South Plains Church in Levelland will host a special service on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. featuring Jesse Duplantis. Duplantis is an evangelist and founder of Jesse Duplantis Ministries, which is headquartered in Louisiana with offices in the United Kingdom and Australia. This is a one-service-only event. Those interested can visit the church on Sunday at 114 Cactus Drive in Levelland or call (806)894-9674. The nursery and kids’ ministry will be open for all services for kids 6 weeks to 4th grade.

Registration is now open for Wayland Baptist University’s Super Summer 2022 in Plainview. This year’s featured speaker is Shannon Hopkins and the worship leader is Dusty Joplin. The camp is scheduled for July 11-15. Those interested in additional information can find it at www.supersummer.com.

Seth Ward Baptist Church, 601 E. 24th St., offers a Men’s Prayer Breakfast every second Saturday of the month at 8 a.m.

A Celebrate Recovery class is hosted by Johnny Beavers at Seth Ward Baptist Church, 601 E. 24th St., every Friday at 6:30 p.m.

The Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 1504 Houston in Plainview, invites the public to pray at the church from 6-7 p.m. each Friday. You don’t need to be a member of the church to attend and pray. For those who are homebound or sick, the church ministry will come and pray for you at your home. Call Pastor Alvin Ruiz at 806-729-4057 for information.

Our Lady of Guadalupe offers soup kitchen through cafeteria once a month. A soup kitchen coordinator said it’s run by the church’s CCD program. It helps those kids involved get community service credits. Delivery is available. The soup kitchen is generally offered on the third Saturday of the month. Meals are served from noon to 2 p.m. at 211 W. Seventh Street.

The Plainview Dance Club hosts dances at the Elks Lodge every first, second and fourth Thursday from 6:30-9 p.m. The Elks Lodge is at 908 N. I-27. The meetings include weekly live musical entertainment each night. There are no snacks. The event is open to everyone. The entry fee is $5 for members, $7 for nonmembers or $10 for a yearlong membership.
