Perennial flowers bloom at different times of the season, so for constant color, good planning and a mix of varieties is important.
The best trait of perennial flowers is that you plant them once, and they come back year after year (assuming the deer and groundhogs don’t eat them).
No replanting is needed every spring as with annual flowers -- petunias, zinnias, marigolds, and such.
