This week, it’s a collaboration between Eagle Park Brewing and Vennture Brew Co. that deserves notice. Also, beer gardens.
The third event in Klub Kölsch is happening at New Barons Brewing Co-op (2018 S. 1st St.) at 6 p.m. Taste and critique a few Kölsch-style ales made by homebrewers and help to determine which recipe will be brewed commercially by New Barons. Cost is free for member-owners and $10 for the general public.
Beat the Brewer returns to WhirlyBall Brookfield (185 S. Moorland Rd.) at 6:30 p.m. Great Lakes Brewing is bringing a few beers and is taking on all challengers at WhirlyBall from 7 to 9 p.m.
The Traveling Beer Garden Pass Me a Pint tour kicks off the summer schedule at Froemming Park (8801 S. 51st St.) and will be there until June 12. Hours are 5 to 9 p.m. on weekdays at 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends and holidays.
Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. is taking over some of the taps at The Tap Yard Milwaukee (1555 N. Rivercenter Dr.) at 5 p.m.
Another Plant & Sip Succulent Bar event is coming to The Tap Yard Waukesha (1150 W. Sunset Dr.) at 6 p.m. For $60 you get the tools to make a cool arrangement and a free beer.

City Lights Brewing is taking over some of the taps at Leff’s Lucky Town (7208 W. State St.) from 4 to 7 p.m. for a worthy cause. A portion of the proceeds benefit the daughter of Shannon Freeman, the head chef at City Lights who was senselessly killed in April. If you can’t make it, a GoFundMe has been set up.
Lakefront Brewery is releasing its Tequila Barrel-Aged Imperial Margarita Style Ale at Oscar’s Pub and Grill (1712 W. Pierce St.) at 6 p.m.
The Behind the Beer Series continues at Ray’s Growler Gallery (8930 W. North Ave.) with a visit from Young Blood Beer Company at 6:30 p.m. Sign up to reserve a spot to learn about the Madison brewery.
Try samples from Hinterland Brewing at Discount Liquor Milwaukee (5031 W. Oklahoma Ave.) from 3 to 6 p.m.
Indeed Brewing is handing out samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha (919 N. Barstow St.) from 3 to 5 p.m.
1840 Brewing Company (342 E. Ward St.) is releasing Won’t You Be My Neighb, a Flemish red aged in oak barrels. The wort used in the creation of this brew came from a batch that 1840 split with Supermoon Beer Co. Presale starts at 9 a.m. and pickup begins at 3 p.m.
The War Memorial Beer Garden (750 N. Lincoln Memorial Dr.) is open for business this weekend. Summer hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., every day except for Monday.
The Beer Garden Road Show heads to Homestead Hollow County Park (N120 W19809 Freistadt Rd., Germantown) on Friday to pour beers from 1840 Brewing. Hours are 4 to 9 p.m.
Grab some of these for summer. Third Space Brewing (1505 W. St. Paul Ave.) is releasing Lavender Lemonade, a kettle sour made with, well, lemons and lavender.
Toppling Goliath is handing out samples at Discount Liquor Waukesha from 4 to 6 p.m.
Thank heaven for local brewery collabs. Eagle Park Brewing and Vennture Brew Co. joined forces to create two variants of Obligatory Corporate Collaboration, a coffee stout. Obligatory Corporate Collaboration: Double Barrel Aged is made with barrel-aged coffee and barrel-aged beer. Obligatory Corporate Collaboration: Costa Rica is made with Costa Rican coffee. Both are available at Vennture (5519 W. North Ave.) and both Eagle Park locations (823 E. Hamilton St. and S64 W15640 Commerce Center Pkwy., Muskego).
The Beer Garden Road Show makes a stop at Klode Park (5960 N. Lake Dr.) from 2 to 9 p.m.
Family Fun Day at The Tap Yard Waukesha means a bounce house, face painting, ice cream and other fun stuff. For adults it means a great tap list loaded with sours. Sour Fest is also happening there from noon to 8 p.m.
Hacienda Beer Co. (2018 W. North Ave.) is releasing What Could Have Been, a Vienna-style lager, and It Just Does Weird Things, a hazy IPA.
Bend & Brew is happening at Indeed Brewing Co. (530 S. 2nd St.) from 10 t0 11 a.m. The hour-long yoga session is free but sign up ahead of time.
