Citywide Charity Scavenger Hunt: A trail of clues will lead participants to four Charlotte businesses. The first person to find the hidden PS5 will win a brand new PS5 console. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Reproductive Rights Coalition. August 1-27. $15. Details.

Queen City Anime Convention at the Sheraton Charlotte Hotel: Anime stans rise! This three-day convention celebrates all things animation, manga and comics, video gaming and cosplay. 4th Anniversary Party at Pilot Brewing: The celebration is going on all weekend long with activities like a mac & cheese competition, food trucks and even an art auction. August 5-7. Free. Details.

Shakedown Street A Night of Grateful Dead at The Music Yard at SouthBound: Josh Daniel’s Grateful Band will be playing classic Grateful Dead tunes. 6pm. $15+. Details.

Taylor Fest at Amos Soth End: This traveling music event is a party dedicated to Swifties. Get ready to sing along to all your favorite T-Swift jams. 9pm. $20. Details.

Amphibious Duathlon at the Whitewater Center: Put your body to the test in a competition across land and water. The route consists of two 5K legs and a 2K paddle. The in-person race has sold out but there is still availability for the virtual option. August 13-18. $45. Details.

Cactus Club Grand Re-Opening at 909 Central Ave., Ste. 1: Cactus Club has relocated from South End to Plaza Midwood and is celebrating with 15% off storewide, freebies and seltzers for guests. 11-6pm. Free. Details.

AfroPop! Sound System Mini-Block Party at The Spoke Easy: Get ready for an outdoor music experience with a talented lineup of artists, food trucks & vendors and an interactive screen printing installation. 5-10pm. Free. Details.

Disco Inferno at The Music Yard: Move and groove to a funky selection of disco jams from a lineup of guest DJs. 6pm. $5+. Details.
