Outdoor Movie Night Under the Stars Grab your picnic blanket, camping chairs and bring the kids to Waterfront Park on Daniel Island for a community movie night showing the Disney Pixar film Luca, a coming of age tale about an unforgettable summer. Attendees can purchase popcorn in a variety of flavors from Mr. Popper’s Kettle Korn, plus wood-fired pizza and frosé from The Dime and Japanese soul food from food truck Tamashii. Make a day of the event by taking advantage of the park’s hiking trails along the river, fishing on the pier and playground for the kids. The event is free, but prior-registration is encouraged.

Richard Hagerty and Chilly Waters exhibit Park Circle Gallery continues to support diverse visual art with its September exhibit featuring surrealist painter Richard Hagerty and clay sculptor Chilly Waters. Hagerty, raised in Charleston, holds a fascination with myth and symbol, incorporating a vast array of mystical ideas into his work. His surrealism collapses the constructs of space and time and finds synchronicity in the most unlikely of subjects, embracing a curiosity for color and form. Waters works with clay and found objects for his mixed-media art, capturing idioms in a literal way.

One Night Only: Collaboration and Diversity An ensemble of local musicians will gather at Fox Music House to play a set of tunes that showcases diverse musical backgrounds from classical and pop to jazz and folk. The family-friendly event is for all music lovers, featuring musicians Ann Caldwell, Charles Miller, Jonathan Kammer, John F. Kennedy, John Holenko, Matt Masie and Mike Kaufman. Attendees can bring their own snacks and drinks.

Pickers Hullabaloo Flea Market Drop by Holy City Brewing for the September Pickers Hullabaloo Flea Market to enjoy an eclectic array of products from local vendors, good food and live music. Early birds can pay $10 cash at the gate 10-11 a.m. for a first look at items, while the rest of the day is free entry. Holy City offers an in-house menu and a diverse tap list for pickers. The large vendor market has everything from vintage clothes, rugs and jewelry to furniture and vintage finds.

Succulent Wine Bottle Workshop Join your fellow plant lovers for a Rock n’ Roots Plant Co. workshop where you learn to make a fall-themed living succulent arrangement inside an upcycled wine bottle cut by a local glass artisan. Whether you’re a plant novice or expert, this class is a great way to learn to work with succulents. The cost of the class includes live instruction, a wine bottle for display, an assortment of succulents, decorative materials, a watering wand and a care guide with tips.
